Unseen Fashion Faces and Figures
The Unseen Fashion Faces and Figures exhibition took a proactive approach to broadening representations within the fashion industry, by utilising fashion illustration as a significant method of media through which we can visually communicate and bring about change. Artists were asked to create an artwork which specifically celebrated underrepresented communities and figures, with over forty artists’ works on show, representing people of all shapes and sizes, backgrounds, cultural and ethnic origins, abilities, and unique characteristics within a fashion context. The exhibition was also used as a backdrop for practical workshops with students and members of the public, led by artists, Rob Unett, Bex Cassie, Martha Zmpounou, Faye Dobinson, and Francesco Poiana, and culminated in a panel discussion with Rob Unett, Bex Cassie, Anjelica Roselyn & Alex Mein. This project was created and presented by London College of Fashion, UAL, in collaboration with Cass Art, supported by Liquitex and Clairefontaine
