BA (Hons) Critical Practice in Fashion Media Students Collaborate with Tom Zambaz for Provocative Graduate Showcase
The BA (Hons) Critical Practice in Fashion Media Class of 2024 made a bold statement with their graduate showcase, collaborating with graphic designer Tom Zambaz to create a visually striking series of typographic posters. Designed to elevate thought-led work within an exhibition space often dominated by physical artefacts, the project placed critical questions at the forefront of fashion communication.
The posters, each centered around student-posed provocations, challenged audiences with themes such as "Love in the time of disaster," "A generation addicted to screens: how and when will it end?" and "Give consumers alternatives to fast fashion, reduce guilty emotions." Other thought-provoking titles included "Honour the experts: archive Stan culture now" and "In a sea of data do we drown in our echoes? Are we masters of memory or prisoners of our past?"
This collaboration aimed to give visual power and public presence to complex conceptual work, showcasing the students' commitment to addressing social, cultural, and ethical issues through fashion media.
